Now, there is nothing wrong with a company’s selling your personal information. After all, they are in the business of making money, and personal data is quite valuable. However, you must give your consent.
When you sign up for the newsletter, the small print says that by signing up, you consent to receiving marketing emails. If you’re okay with that, by all means sign up. However, make sure you understand what you’re agreeing to—not only in this case, but whenever you give someone your personal information online. Read the privacy statements and disclosures. You may be surprised at what you’re allowing companies to do with your personal information.
